- Travel cheaper around London - posted by Hottest Offers on Jul 6th 2009 19:35
Did you know that planning ahead can save you up to 50% on your travel costs? Sometimes we can’t always plan ahead, but shopping around for a few minutes for the best deal can’t hurt. One of the cheapest forms of travel that I have personally used is the Megabus. For a mere £1 you can be on your way from London to Bournemouth in no time if you book early. To be completely honest you tend to have to hunt around on the Megabus website for the £1 promotion (there is always a little catch) and to guarantee your seat you need to book as early as possible.
National Express is another great site to use when looking for those cheap deals. They too have those lovely £1 deals so book your coach seat anywhere in the UK and if your luckily you can find those dream tickets. In addition Nation rail give their customers many promotions throughout the year so if you sign up to their newsletter you will find out first.
I have been told with everything you have to be very quick as they get snapped up pretty fast but still the opportunities are defiantly there. If you aren’t quick enough for the newsletter lucky dip then sign up to their family deals called 2plus2. It is an annual pass for £16 a year that allows two adults and two kids to travel and the kids travel for free. You can also go for the rail card that works out to £26 for the year and gives two adults up to a third off and 60% off children’s fares.
Virgin has a great promotion on travel from London to Manchester. Get a ticket for £8 one way, so you can shop during the day and go clubbing at night. If you are a current Virgin credit card holder then you will be entitled to 10% virgin train fares at any time. Virgin also states that if you are traveling in a group you can save up to 85% off your travel so work out the best times and book your ticket early to get those rock bottom prices.
If your thinking of traveling across Europe and want to find a ticket supplier to purchase tickets before-hand then try Rail Europe, they sell tickets for most European countries including cheap tickets for Eurostar. They also have great promotions sometimes unrelated stuff like discount vouchers for clothes so while on holiday why not shop till you drop. If you book online you can save £8 off your deal through them.
With Fabio Capello’s England team safely through to the second round of the World Cup, following a 1 nil win against Slovenia, our thoughts can return to Wimbledon. The SW19 tournament kicked off on Monday with Andy Murray flying the flag for the Brits.
Whether its strawberries and cream, Pimms, Cliff Richard singing in the rain or the fans on Henman Hill or Murrays Mound, the traditions of Wimbledon mean there isn’t another event like it in the sporting calendar.
Earlier This Week, Chancellor George Osborne announced brutal spending cuts and tax rises, to aid the UK’s economic recovery. Mr Osborne warned that years of financial mismanagement by the Labour government had made these measures necessary.
Amongst pay freezes for public sector workers and huge rises in capital gains tax, the Chancellor announced VAT would rise from 17.5% to 20% on January 4th 2011. The current rate of 17.5% has been in place since 1991, although this was reduc....
Girl s Aloud’s Kimberley Walsh has been busy promoting a Sky documentary about the history and evolution of jeans. The programme which aired on Monday followed the singer as she travelled across America and Europe meeting designers, visiting factories and denim fashion houses.
The most interesting thing about this programme was the segments on finding the perfect pair of jeans. Despite having a more sizeable budget than most, the pop star told TV presenters Holly and Phillip dur....
The housing market has battled its way through the recession from late 2008 up until early 2010. The market is still not on its way to prosperity but in the last few months we have seen an increase in houses being put up for sale. No doubt one of the major reasons that the extra increase has come about is due to the removal of Home Information Pack (HIP) by the conservative government.
